The Buddhist Song

Some days I'm a Buddhist, and some days I'm a nudist
Some days I'm a Taoist, listening for that tree
And some days I'm a Catholic, a Holy-rollin' maverick
But on lonely nights I believe in Polygamy (Original verse)
Some days Mohammed brings his peace to me (Alternate verse)

'Cause I know we're all able, to sit at life's great table
And Eat and drink whatever we all please
But those who claim they're real, they'll serve you a twenty-course meal
Then they'll tell you, "You can only eat the peas"

Some days I'm a Parishoner, Some days I'm a Hare Krishna
Sitting in an airport bangin' on my Tambourine
And some days I'm a Navaho, walkin' cross the mountains with the valley below
Singing to my Spirit with a Scream

'Cause I know we're all able, to sit at life's great table
And Eat and drink whatever we all please
But those who claim they're real, they'll serve you a twenty-course meal
Then they'll tell you, "You can only eat the peas"

And some days I'm Fundamental, Some days I'm in Temple
Some days I'm a New Age with a crystal on a string
And some days I'm in the back of the bus, clapping' my hands for Jesus
'Cause boy those Christians sure do love to sing

And I know we're all able, to sit at life's great table
And Eat and drink whatever we all feel
So if you find yourself a way, don't ever listen to what others say
Just remember, all spokes will lead you straight to the center of the wheel
